Lucas Benjamin

Lucas Benjamin's first encounters with music started at an early age. As the son of a DJ and musician he was nourished with a broad selection of sounds. His true passion for music evolved when he started dancing at the age of twelve. Unifying his mind, body and soul with tribal drumbreaks, powerful funky horn sections and soulful vocals made him experience the true essence of jazz, funk and soul. Since his beginnings he always had a great interest in music and its history which made him spent hours in record-stores, educating himself by analysing numerous records. His musical journey is a never-ending continuous quest that has been taking him deep into Afro & Brazilian music alongside the latest electronic experiments. Lucas co-founded the Wicked Wax record label, as well as parties such as MORE BOUNCE and more recently, the platform Steppin' Into Tomorrow.
